At Abbott, Dr. Anderson has worked on the development of hepatitis B research assays for the detection of HBsAg/anti-HBs immune complexes, HBsAg Isoforms, and HBV pgRNA. Dr. Anderson has engaged in collaborative research studies with both academic institutions and pharmaceutical companies to study the utility of novel HBV biomarkers in staging disease, viral responses to experimental HBV therapeutics, and off therapy outcomes.

Dr. Anderson has authored over 35 scientific publications. Before joining Abbott in 2018, he received his doctoral training at The University of Chicago and completed post-doctoral research studies at the Pasteur Institute in France.
