Melanie Nicol, PharmD, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. She completed her PharmD at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio and her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The goal of Dr. Nicol’s research is to improve the treatment and prevention of HIV and HIV-associated infections by identifying factors that influence the efficacy of anti-infectives in tissue compartments relevant for transmission or pathogen reservoirs. Her translational research lab uses a combination of approaches from in vitro, ex-vivo, and clinical studies, including international clinical trials collaborations.
