Dr. Mona Loutfy is an Associate Professor and Clinician Scientist at Women’s College Hospital and the University of Toronto where she focuses on clinical research related to women and HIV. Her clinical practice is at the Maple Leaf Medical Clinic, which cares for close to 2,700 HIV-positive patients in inner city Toronto. Her area of research is in sexual and reproductive health, stigma, and access to care. She launched the Woman and HIV Research Program at the Women’s College Research Institute in 2006 to carry out these activities. Dr. Loutfy works from a community-based research model involving the people that her research will affect at all stages.
