Nichole Klatt, PhD

Biography

Nikki Klatt is an assistant professor in the department of Pharmaceutics at the University of Washington, and adjunct assistant professor in the programs in Pathobiology in the school of global health and the molecular and cellular biology graduate program. Nikki received her PhD in Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis from Emory University in Atlanta, GA in 2009, and she also studied as a visiting fellow at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA from 2006-2008. She completed her postdoctoral training at the NIH in 2012, in the Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in Bethesda, MD. The Klatt research lab focuses on understanding mechanisms underlying mucosal immune dysfunction during HIV infection, and developing novel therapeutic interventions to treat HIV disease pathogenesis and reservoir, and prevent HIV acquisition.
