Omeid graduated from UC Irvine with his BSN and practiced as a PICU nurse for 2 years prior to moving to Baltimore. At Hopkins, he completed the MSN/MPH program, specializing his MSN in HIV primary care and his MPH in Epidemiology. He recently graduated from the PhD program at Hopkins, completing a dissertation titled: “Primary Care for People Who Inject Drugs: Addressing Engagement and Unmet Need.”
He currently practices as a NP at a Baltimore FQHC and is a fellow in the Drug Dependence Epidemiology program at the Bloomberg School of Public Health. His current research is on optimizing telemedicine for the delivery of medication for opioid use disorder as well as the impact of an individual’s social network on their current substance use and other health related behavior.
He enjoys baking bread and going on road trips with his wife and two dogs.
