Biography

Dr. Pablo Rojo is a Paediatric Infectious Diseases Specialist of Hospital 12 de Octubre, Madrid, Spain. He is also Associate Professor of Complutense University, Madrid, Spain. He obtained his MD and PhD from Complutense University. He has been a member of the Board of the Spanish Society of Paediatric Infectious Diseases (SEIP) from 2010 to 2014 and is now board member of the European Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID). He is author and coauthor of over 80 peer reviewed scientific articles and book chapters. His main research activities are related to HIV, S. aureus and congenital CMV infection.

Related to Paediatric HIV, he runs the Children and Adolescents HIV Paediatric Clinic at Hospital 12 de Octubre. He is member of the PENTA Steering Committee and EPPICC Committee, he has participated in many paediatric antiretroviral clinical trials and is part of the EPIICAL project pursuing novel therapeutics approaches for early treated HIV-infected children. He participates as a Technical advisor for Paediatric HIV for Spanish Government, he participates in a collaborating project on Paediatric HIV in Equatorial Guinea and has also advised WHO in Paediatric HIV treatment. He is the co-Chief Investigator of ODYSSEY and Chief Investigator of the EMPIRICAL trial: Use of valganciclovir and tuberculosis treatment in severe pneumonia HIV-infected infants in Africa: a randomized clinical trial.
