Pavel Khaykin, MD studied medicine in Ukraine and had already big experience in infectious diseases and especially Hepatitis C and HIV before he started as HIV-Specialist in Germany. After 9 years’ experience at one of the biggest HIV centres at Frankfurt University Hospital as a physician, specialist for internal medicine and co-investigator in many clinical trials Phase II – IV in HIV and HIV/HCV fields, he started in October 2013 his own practice focused on antiretroviral treatment, hepatitis C treatment and substitution treatment of injecting opioid users. His clinical and research interests include antiretroviral treatment for patients infected with resistant viruses, HCV treatment in HIV co-infected patients, especially in IVDU, and treatment of opportunistic infections, especially tuberculosis. He is speaker and mentor in some HIV-programs for East Europe and Central Asia (American Health Alliance, WHO Europe), he published more than 20 articles. He is a member of board of European Society of Chemotherapy Infectious Diseases.
