Pep Coll, MD, is the Clinical Cohorts Coordinator of the HIVACAT Programme (Project for the development of HIV vaccines) at the IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute, and attending physician at the HIV Unit of the Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, Badalona. He collaborates in the recruitment and follow up of several cohorts (HIV acute infections, controllers, rapid progressors, HESN), and he has conducted cohort studies of HIV-uninfected men who have sex with men (MSM), in collaboration with a community based organization (BCN Checkpoint). Another of his fields is the Human Papillomavirus, collaborating in the programme for the prevention of anal cancer in HIV-infected patients.
Dr. Coll is currently focused on strategies for prevention of HIV and other STI (including Hepatitis C) among at-risk MSM in Barcelona. He is the investigator of several studies of PrEP, implemented in collaboration with BCN checkpoint.
