Rémi Kazma, MD, PhD

Biography

Rémi Kazma is a Biomarker and Experimental Medicine Leader in Infectious Diseases at Roche (Basel, Switzerland). In this role, Rémi currently leads the development and implementation of the biomarker strategy in the chronic HBV program, comprising a diverse pipeline of direct-acting antivirals and immunomodulators. Leveraging his multi-disciplinary expertise in biomarker development, medicine, and biostatistics, Rémi is passionate to contribute to the successful development of new molecules into medicines in areas with substantial unmet medical need, such as delivering a functional cure therapy for chronic HBV patients.

Rémi holds an M.D. from Université Saint-Joseph (Beirut, Lebanon) and a Ph.D. in Public Health, specialized in Human Genetics from Université Paris-Sud (Paris, France). Following his post-doctoral training at UCSF where he studied gene-environment interactions in human complex diseases, his work focused on clinical biomarker research across diverse disease areas (respiratory, cardio-vascular, autoimmune, and infectious diseases).
