Sasisopin Kiertiburanakul, MD, MHS

Biography

Sasisopin Kiertiburanakul is Professor of Medicine at Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand.

She has served as the chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases since 2015. She also is the assistant to the Dean for Corporate Communication, the committee of the Royal College of Physicians of Thailand, and the Vice President of the Infectious Disease Association of Thailand and the secretary of the Thai AIDS Society.

Prof. Kiertiburanakul graduated from the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. She was a clinical fellow of infectious diseases at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. She obtained her Master of Health Science in epidemiology from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, USA.

Prof. Kiertiburanakul is a member of several societies, including the HIV Medicine Association and Infectious Diseases Society of America. In addition, she is the principal investigator and co-investigator in many international multicenter studies such as STACCATO, SMART study, START, TREAT Asia HIV Observational Database (TAHOD), TREAT Asia HIV Observational Database Low Intensity Transfer (TAHOD-LITE) and US Mycosis Study Group. 

Prof. Kiertiburanakul’s research is focusing on general infectious diseases and HIV. She has co-authored and collaborated on more than 220 articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals, presented 130 abstracts at international meetings, and is still actively involved in several ongoing clinical studies.
