Shanti Narayanasamy is an infectious diseases physician in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Immunology at Austin Health, Melbourne, Australia. She is Adjunct Assistant Professor of Global Health at the Duke Global Health Institute. Dr. Narayanasamy completed a Master of Science (Global Health) and an Infectious Diseases and Global Health Fellowship at Duke University in 2022. She is currently a PhD candidate in epidemiology at the University of Melbourne and Burnet Institute, Melbourne.

Dr. Narayanasamy's research interests include issues of equity in global health, local and global health justice, and the role of race in medicine. Her current research is focused on improving diagnostics for a neglected HIV-associated infection – Talaromyces marneffei, improving access to SARS-CoV-2 treatment and diagnostics in low- and middle-income countries, and understanding how physicians operationalize race in medicine.
