Dr. Taweesap is a retired Senior Medical Officer from Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health. He had served in several key positions in the national HIV programs and as public health advisors at international levels including UNFPA, UNAIDS, WHO, US-CDC, and the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria.
Dr. Taweesap has played critical roles for bringing stigma and discrimination issues to be one of the national priorities and working with stakeholders to develop framework and tools to measure and reduce HIV-related stigma and discrimination in different settings. The stigma mesurement and reduction efforts in health care settings has been well accepted with nationally geographical scale-up in Thailand and expansion to some countries in Asia.
