Dr. Yudara Kularathne is a renowned Consultant Emergency Physician and Artificial Intelligence Innovator, currently based in both San Francisco and Singapore, with 15 years of professional experience. Originally from Sri Lanka, Dr. Kularathne moved to Singapore where he completed his medical degree at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He further advanced his studies by completing a Master of Medicine (MMED) at NUS and specialist training in the Singhealth Residency program, graduating as a specialist Emergency Physician in 2019. He is also a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
From 2019 to 2022, Dr. Kularathne served as a specialist in the Emergency Department at Sengkang General Hospital under the Singhealth Group. During this period, he spearheaded the SKH Paediatric Emergency team and cared for more than 10,000 paediatric emergencies under his leadership.
In 2022, Dr. Kularathne opted to step out of academia to pursue his passion for innovation and founded HeHealth, a pioneering digital diagnostic startup. HeHealth leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enable early detection of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in men, thereby facilitating timely interventions. Since then, his innovations have extended into synthetic medical imaging and GenAI-based patient risk stratification and communication models. His work has been documented in multiple peer-reviewed journals and recognized by global institutes such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Kularathne is an avid scuba diver and a certified PADI diving instructor, often spending his leisure time exploring the ocean depths and swimming with sharks.
