Dr. Anca Streinu-Cercel, MD, PhD, is a senior specialist in infectious diseases at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases “Prof Dr. Matei Bals” Bucharest, coordinator of the A5 ID department and Clinical research unit, and Professor Infectious Diseases Department Carol Davila Medicine and Pharmacy University, Bucharest, Romania.
She is a member of the scientific committee of the European HIV/AIDS and Infectious Diseases Academy as a medical scientific activity, project development, general secretary for The Society for Infectious Diseases and HIV/AIDS (SIDHA)Romania, www.infectiologie.ro, member of ESCMID/ ESGVC ESCMID: ESGVH, and EACS.
Dr Anca Streinu-Cercel, has experience in academic teaching within the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, through interaction with patients as a resident, specialist, and senior specialist infectious diseases physician, through working in the hospital, with inpatients, outpatients, and working on international clinical trials and international grants in the field of infectious diseases, COVID-19, HIV/comorbidities, hepatitis and many others. Also, as an academic activity coordinating diploma/license theses of medical students, and PhD students.
Actually coordinating the clinical research department at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases “Prof.Dr.Matei Balș” as an outpatient clinic and the inpatient Adult 5 Infectious Diseases and HIV department.
Starting in 2024, Dr. Streinu-Cercel is an associated member of the Academy of Romanian Scientists.
