Dr. Anca Streinu-Cercel, MD, PhD, is senior specialist infectious diseases at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases “Prof Dr. Matei Bals” Bucharest, and Professor Infectious Diseases Department Carol Davila Medicine and Pharmacy University, Bucharest, Romania.

Dr Anca Streinu-Cercel, has experience in academic teaching within the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, through interaction with patients as resident, specialist, senior specialist infectious diseases physician, through working in the hospital, with inpatients, outpatients, and working on international clinical trials and international grants in the field of infectious diseases, COVID-19, HIV/comorbidities, hepatitis and many others.

Actually coordinating the department of clinical research department at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases “Prof.Dr.Matei Balș”, coordinating the diploma/license theses of medical students, study coordinator for certain international medical projects and she developed managerial  skills acquired through organizing scientific symposiums, scientific sessions, national congresses with international participation. Also regarding project management – attending theoretical courses on Project management and on Clinical trials management, and putting the information into practice through coordinating medical projects, international project founded by competition grants and national projects, as member in the management team, or project director. One of the most important projects coordinated as project director was the grant The Romanian Biomolecular Research Centre for Infectious Diseases Co-financed by The European Regional Development Fund cod ID/SMIS: 1871/49153CCRBI: Establishing and developing a Biomolecular Research Center for Infectious Diseases that side with the European Research-Development requirements, with positive implications on national and European research, targeting ID such as EBOLA and other hemorrhagic fevers, but not limited to them.
