Prof. Reena Shah is Associate Professor, Consultant Physician and Specialist in Infectious Diseases, in the Department of Medicine at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi. (AKUHN). She is also director of the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program at AKUHN.
Prof. Shah completed her MMBS at the University of Southampton, UK and has been a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) London since 2000. She obtained a Diploma in Infectious Diseases from University of London as well as a Diploma in Tropical Medicine from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Following this she obtained a Masters in Infectious Diseases from the University of London.
Prof. Shah was awarded Fellowship for the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh FRCPE in 2014. Her Clinical research interest is primarily in the area of HIV/AIDS, TB, hepatitis B and hospital acquired infections. She was the chair of the antibiotic sub-committee of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and has spearheaded the Antibiotic Stewardship program in AKUHN. She is also Vice-chair of the Kenya HIV Clinicians Association and member of the British HIV Association.
