Beatriz Grinsztejn, MD, PhD

Biography

Dr. Beatriz Grinsztejn is a physician-scientist with over three decades of experience in HIV research.

She is the Head of the STD/AIDS Clinical Research Laboratory at the Instituto Nacional de Infectologia Evandro Chagas (INI)/Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz) and has served as the Fiocruz Clinical Trials Unit PI since 2005.

The unit is affiliated with the HIV Prevention Trials Network, the AIDS Clinical Trials Group, the COVID-19 Prevention Trials Network, the HIV Vaccines Network, and the ANRS and the Caribbean, Central and South America Network for HIV Epidemiology of the International Epidemiologic Databases to Evaluate AIDS  and implements prevention and therapeutic clinical trials and cohort studies.

She is a member of the Brazilian Ministry of Health ART and PrEP Advisory Committees, the PAHO Technical Advisory Committee, and the HIV Guidelines Developing Group of the WHO.

Dr Grinsztejn is the IAS President Elect.
