About this Program
In a joint effort between Virology Education and the Erasmus MC Foundation #aware.hiv Ukraine, we are proud to share the HIV Care in Ukraine Webinar to bring awareness and support to Ukraine in this time of great need.
Virology Education and the Erasmus MC Foundation #aware.hiv Ukraine are proud to have worked together to organize this webinar for the benefit of residents as well as refugees living with HIV with limited access to HIV care.
In this webinar, renowned Ukrainian speakers shared their experiences and engaged in a lively discussion on the key elements of HIV care in light of the current situation. By joining this program, delegates had the opportunity to contribute ideas, hear from experiences, donate to aware.HIV, and gained invaluable insight into how they as a healthcare provider could take action by developing their own support initiatives.
Key lectures included the current healthcare situation in Ukraine, clinical aspects of HIV care, a report from the community, and a panel discussion with representatives from high-profile European organizations.

#aware.hiv Ukraine
At the beginning of the war in February, two HIV-treating physicians, Dr. Casper Rokx from the Netherlands and Dr. Marta Vasylyev from Ukraine, came together to take a critical look at the needs of those living with HIV in Ukraine.
Within a matter of days, they set up aware.HIV Ukraine with the motto 'dare to share care.' This initiative aims to create awareness, provide medical help, and fundraise for HIV test and treatment services for people with HIV.
Thanks to this, aware.HIV has now raised €17.565 in support of HIV care in Ukraine.
How Can You Help?
Right now, the two biggest needs in HIV healthcare are antiretroviral medicines and financial means to support the logistics of HIV care on the ground
You can help us with that. Through the YING network, we ensure that any support comes to the right place.
We sincerely thank you for your support.
By facing these dark times together, we can lighten the future for those that need it the most now.
