Overview
Welcome
Group Photo_NAFLD Workshop 2022

The Innovations in NAFLD Care Workshop 2022 took place as a hybrid workshop at the Sercotel Caspe Hotel in Barcelona, Spain, from 6-7 May 2022. Delegates were able to attend either in person in Barcelona or virtually from their computer.

This workshop was the second meeting in the Innovations in NAFLD Care Series. The first was the Innovations in NAFLD Care Webinar 2022, held on 19 January 2022.

The Innovations in NAFLD Care Workshop 2023 will take place in Barcelona from 26-27 May 2023.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is estimated to affect 25% of the world’s population. Given the association between NAFLD and the growing global epidemics of obesity and type 2 diabetes, this number is expected to increase.
Despite the high prevalence of NAFLD, there remain challenges in screening, as only a minority of cases are diagnosed and correctly treated. Therefore, there is a growing need to design and implement comprehensive models of care.
The cascade of care for the diagnosis and treatment of NAFLD requires a multidisciplinary approach, with the development of patient-centric structures and systems that facilitate the coordination and integration of services delivered at different levels of healthcare systems.

This workshop will provide a platform to bring together the relevant stakeholders and patients to optimize NAFLD care. The 2-day program will explore the different perspectives that healthcare professionals and patients with NAFLD face daily. It will highlight where healthcare providers and policy-makers can implement the most comprehensive models of NAFLD care.
